Facts about the 1923 P Cent: This issue may be found in all grades through fully red gem. Some cents are of lesser quality are abundant but there are enough good quality cents that the lesser coins may be passed over.

1923 S wheat penny

Rarity: 1923 S cents are common in lower grades but cents of higher quality and grading are hard to find. Fully red gems are rare. When found such coins are a deep red in color and are softly struck. However the brassy color cents are more common.

Facts about the 1923 S Cent: Many 1923 S cents have been cleaned. A few may be found w few may be found with their original light color. However most have poor alloying. Quality 1923 S cents are hard to find and are highly valued.

Most 1923 S cents have sides that show erosion of dies and have a expanded appearance around the letters wheat ears and borders. Some have shallow.
