1938 S variety: 20,010,000

Rarity: These are common in all grades. You can easily find good quality cents without too much trouble. Original rolls still exist although it may take some effort to find.

1938 D wheat penny

Rarity: Cents of this date are quite rare in circulation. You might be able to find a few cents of good quality.

1938 S wheat penny

Rarity: Circulated had low mintage and as a result are rare. Uncirculated rolls were saved and cents of good quality are readily avaliable.

Facts about the 1938 S Cent: The best cents have already been taken. In 1938 the San Francisco mint had a series of issues due to the recession and filling a large order from China.
