Features
Garrett Electronics developed many new features on the Garrett Pro Pointer 2. The goal is to improve the original pointer and make it easy to use. Here are some of those features to consider:
Power Alerts
When you power on the Garrett Pro-Pointer 2, you will hear two beeps. The LED indicator light will remain on. When you press and release the power button to turn off the pinpointer, a single beep will signify the device has powered down.
That same LED power indicator light will stay on as long as the power is on. So it can also double as a flashlight.
Lost Pinpointer Alarm
When you’re out treasure hunting, sometimes you could lose track of your Garrett Pro pointer 2 pinpointer. That is especially true if you detect something and start digging! The Pro-Pointer 2 will send out chirps after being on for five minutes without pressing action buttons. To turn this alarm off, you have to power it off and back on.
Scraping Blade
The Garrett Pro Pointer 2 has a rugged edge that is perfect for sifting through dirt and mud once you detect a target object. In addition, thanks to the device’s 360-side-scan detection capabilities, the alarm will chirp when your pointer is close to any type of metallic object.
That includes the detection of any type of ferrous or non-ferrous metals. This all-in-one digging and alarm feature is extremely popular with detecting enthusiasts.

Retuning for Mineralized Ground or Wet Salt Sand
Everyone who spends time hunting for treasure knows that certain areas can be highly mineralized. The Garrett Pro Pointer 2 has the ability to “tune out” that mineralization. All you have to do is hold the tip of the pointer into the area and quickly press the power button on and off.

Precisely Pinpointing Large Targets
The Garrett Pro Pointer 2 is a handheld device. However, that doesn’t prevent it from detecting large metal objects. So whether you are searching in the ground or behind a wall, you can activate a narrow detection field to lock in a closer proximity to the object.
To accomplish that, you need to scan toward the object until the device emits a constant alarm. Then with the pointer in place, press the power back on and off. That will retune the device to a narrow detection scan. You can use that to accurately find the object you have locked onto and its precise size.
Lanyard Attachment Clip And Holster
You have two options for carrying your Garrett Pro Pointer 2. First, you can attach it to a belt or backpack with the lanyard attaching clip. There is also a holster that fits onto any standard belt. A metal snap in the holster will let you know if the power is still on when you replace the device.
Garrett Pro Pointer 2 Review
The Garrett Pro-Pointer 2 helps find the smallest of metal objects in the least amount of time. As a result, it is ideal in environments with limited space where using a standard metal detector might not be practical.
The Garrett Pro-Pointer 2 works great in static mode. That means you don’t need to sweep it from side to side. Instead, you can target an area for precise location detection. That detection will be revealed with an audio and vibration signal. The closer you move the device to the object, the louder the alarm will sound.
The LED flashlight feature is excellent for illuminating the area that is being scanned. The alarm feature is also helpful if you accidentally drop your Garret Pro-Pointer 2 while on the hunt. It will sound that alarm for up to 60 minutes. So you are sure to find it in that time!
The Garrett Pro-Pointer 2 is designated as water resistant, not waterproof. However, you can use the Garrett Pro-Pointer 2 in damp ground. It is just essential to clean it after use to prevent any water damage. Overall, the Garrett Pro-Pointer 2 is a reliable pinpointer that can take your treasure hunting to the next level.
Garrett Pro Pointer II vs. Pro-Pointer AT

The Garrett Pro Pointer 2 is weatherproof and splashproof. The Pro-Pointer AT is waterproof up to 20 feet below water. Both devices have a two-year limited parts labor warranty. Both the Garrett Pro-Pointer 2 and the Pro-Pointer AT have a quick press retune feature that allows you to reduce the detection area. However, the Garrett Pro-Pointer 2 does not allow for adjusting sensitivity.

Garrett Pro-Pointer II vs. Pro-Pointer AT with Z-Lynk Wireless
The wireless technology is the main difference between the Garrett Pro-Pointer 2 and the Pro-Pointer AT with Z-Lynk Wireless. That lets you hear your pinpoint alarms through your headphones or ear pods. That is an important feature when hunting in a boisterous area.
All the other features from the Garrett Pro-Pointer 2 are part of the Pro-Pointer AT with Z-Lynk Wireless.
Conclusion
The Garrett Pro Pointer 2 is an easy-to-use and compact metal pinpointer device that can reduce search times in a targeted area. The Garrett Pro Pointer 2 is a reliable tool that every serious treasure hunter consider.
Although the price is very reasonable for the quality it offers we still recommend the original Garrett pinpointer over this one.
